The 30 yard container in Spring Hill, FL
The 30-yard is where SHL's containers move from remodel-sized to renovation-and-construction-sized. It's built for jobs that generate real volume — a whole-house gut renovation, a new-construction build, a full estate cleanout, or a demolition job where a 20-yard would mean multiple trips back to the yard.
It's a common request out toward Trinity and Odessa, where new-construction activity along the Suncoast Parkway corridor has been some of the fastest-growing on Florida's west coast, and framing, packaging and site-clearing debris adds up quickly on an active build.
What a 30-yard is built for
Whole-house renovations that strip multiple rooms down to the studs, new-home construction waste (framing offcuts, packaging, drywall scrap), full estate or whole-house cleanouts with furniture and appliances, and larger demolition jobs like an old shed, carport or detached structure coming down all fit comfortably in a 30-yard. It's also the size many general contractors default to for a full remodel where multiple trades are generating debris at once.
One important caveat: weight, not just volume
A 30-yard has plenty of room, but heavy material like concrete, roofing shingles, dirt or brick can hit the tonnage allowance long before the container looks full. If your project is mixed light debris (drywall, framing scrap, packaging) a 30-yard usually goes the distance; if it's dense material like concrete or masonry, call us first — a smaller container built for heavy debris, or a straight-up conversation about tonnage, will save you a surprise overage charge.
Capacity
What actually fits in a 30 yard container
Rough working figures. Weight, not volume, is what stops most loads.
| Material | How much fits |
|---|---|
| Whole-house renovation | Drywall, flooring, cabinetry and fixtures from a full-home remodel |
| New construction | Framing offcuts, packaging and general construction debris from a new build |
| Full estate cleanout | Furniture, appliances and belongings from clearing an entire house |
| Structure demolition | A shed, carport, small addition or similar detached structure |
Suitability
Is the 30 yard the right size for you?
Choose the 30 yard for
- Whole-house gut renovation
- New-construction job site debris
- Full estate or whole-house cleanout
- Small structure demolition (shed, carport, addition)
- Multi-trade remodel generating steady debris
Pick a different size for
- Small single-room projects (a 10 or 15-yard is more cost-effective)
- Debris that's mostly concrete, brick or dirt (weight limits fill it fast — call to confirm)
- Jobs where driveway space is very limited
Placing a 30 yard container on a Spring Hill-area property
With Trinity and Odessa among the fastest-growing new-construction areas on this part of the coast, a 30-yard is a frequent call from builders and general contractors working the golf communities and larger new-build lots east of US-19 along the Suncoast Parkway corridor. It's also the size we recommend most for a full estate cleanout or whole-house gut anywhere in the service area, where a 20-yard would mean scheduling a second pickup mid-project.

30 Yard Dumpster — questions we get asked
Is a 30-yard dumpster overkill for a home renovation?
Not if you're gutting more than one or two rooms, or multiple trades are working at once. For a single-room remodel it's usually more than you need — a 15 or 20-yard is the better value there. For a whole-house renovation, a 30-yard often saves you from ordering a second container mid-job.
Can I put concrete or shingles in a 30-yard?
In smaller amounts mixed with other debris, yes, but a 30-yard filled entirely with concrete, brick or shingles will hit its weight allowance well before it looks full. If your project is mostly heavy material, call us at (352) 667-6532 and we'll talk through the right size and pricing so you're not surprised by an overage.
Do I need a permit for a 30-yard dumpster?
If it's staying on your driveway or private job site in Spring Hill, no permit is required; street placement may need one, and we can help with that process. In other west Pasco towns we haven't verified a specific local rule, so confirm with your city or Pasco County if the container might need to sit in the right-of-way.
Does a 30-yard fit on a residential driveway?
It can, but it's a large container and takes real space — call and describe your driveway and lot so we can confirm it'll fit and won't block access before we deliver.
