The 20 yard container in Spring Hill, FL
The 20-yard is the container SHL delivers most often, and for good reason — it's the size that comfortably covers a full bathroom-and-kitchen remodel, a standard roofing job, or a full lot cleanout without leaving you short and without paying for capacity a smaller project doesn't need.
It's also the size we recommend most for the mobile-home and manufactured-home lot cleanups that make up a steady share of the work along the coastal side of the county — Port Richey, New Port Richey, Holiday, Elfers and Bayonet Point all have a large stock of manufactured-home communities, and a full lot or single-wide cleanout typically lands right in a 20-yard's range.
Why it's the default recommendation
Most remodel and cleanout jobs in west Pasco fall into the range a 20-yard handles well: a kitchen and bathroom remodel together, a full roof tear-off up to around 25-30 squares, a garage and whole-yard cleanout combined, or clearing out a manufactured home lot after a sale or teardown. When customers call unsure of what size to get, this is usually where we start the conversation, then adjust up or down based on what's actually coming out.
Sizing it up or down
If the job is whole-house demolition, a large new-construction pour, or a big commercial cleanout, a 30 or 40-yard will save you from ordering multiple 20-yard hauls. On the other end, if it's really just one room, you can usually save money with a 15-yard instead. Call (352) 667-6532 and describe the project — we'll tell you straight whether a 20 is overkill or the right call.
Capacity
What actually fits in a 20 yard container
Rough working figures. Weight, not volume, is what stops most loads.
| Material | How much fits |
|---|---|
| Kitchen + bathroom remodel | Cabinets, fixtures, tile and flooring from a combined remodel |
| Standard roofing job | Shingle tear-off from an average single-family roof |
| Mobile home lot cleanout | Interior contents and light structural debris from a single-wide cleanout |
| Whole-yard cleanout | Old sheds, fencing, downed limbs and general yard debris from a full property |

Placing a 20 yard container on a Spring Hill-area property
This is the size that comes up constantly in Port Richey, New Port Richey, Holiday, Elfers and Bayonet Point, where established manufactured-home and mobile-home communities generate steady lot-cleanup and cleanout work — a full single-wide or lot clearing typically lands squarely in a 20-yard's range. It's also the standard call for roofing crews working the older neighborhoods along US-19 and for remodel contractors handling combined kitchen-and-bath jobs in Spring Hill and Shady Hills.

20 Yard Dumpster — questions we get asked
Why is the 20-yard your most popular size?
It covers the range of projects we see most often — full remodels, standard roofing jobs, and lot or mobile-home cleanouts — without the extra footprint of a 30 or 40-yard. If you're not sure what you need, it's usually the safest default to ask about first.
Is a 20-yard right for a manufactured or mobile home lot cleanout?
For most single-wide interior and lot cleanouts, yes. If the structure itself is being demolished along with the contents, or the lot has a lot of accumulated debris, let us know the scope when you call so we can confirm whether a 30-yard would save you a second haul.
Do I need a permit for a 20-yard dumpster?
In Spring Hill, no permit is required if the container stays entirely on private property; a permit may be needed only if it sits in the street or right-of-way. For other west Pasco towns we haven't confirmed a specific local ordinance, so check with your municipality or Pasco County first if street placement might be necessary.
Will a 20-yard dumpster fit on a standard driveway?
Generally yes, though it takes up more space than a 10 or 15-yard. If your driveway is narrow, has a slope, or you're working on a smaller mobile-home lot, mention it when you call so we can confirm placement before the truck shows up.
