Concrete & Heavy Debris across the west Pasco area
Concrete, asphalt, brick, block, tile and dirt are a different category of debris from a standard renovation or cleanout load — not because they're harder to load, but because they're heavy. A container that would hold a full driveway's worth of drywall and lumber by volume would be dangerously overweight if filled the same way with broken concrete, so heavy-debris loads are loaded lower and priced by tonnage allowance rather than just the size of the box.
We handle heavy debris regularly across west Pasco County — driveway and patio replacement, pool deck removal, foundation and sidewalk demo, and dirt or fill from excavation work. Call before you order so we can talk through the material and volume and get you into a container sized around the tonnage, not just the yardage.
At a glance
What you get with concrete & heavy debris
- Concrete, asphalt, brick, block, tile and dirt — heavy material loaded on its own, not mixed with general household junk
- Loaded lower than a standard container because weight, not volume, is the limiting factor
- Common for driveway, patio, pool deck, sidewalk and small foundation removal
- Call ahead so we can quote a tonnage allowance that actually fits your job
Why heavy debris gets its own container
Concrete and masonry debris weigh far more per cubic yard than household junk or wood framing — a container that looks half-empty can already be at its weight limit. Loading heavy debris correctly (spread evenly, kept lower in the box) keeps the truck safe to lift and haul, and keeps you from getting hit with an overweight charge you didn't expect. That's why we size and price these loads around tonnage from the start instead of treating them like a standard container.
Typical heavy-debris jobs across west Pasco
A lot of our heavy debris calls are driveway, patio and pool deck replacements in the older, established neighborhoods around Port Richey, New Port Richey and Holiday, where a lot of concrete work is original to the home and decades old. On the growth side, in Trinity and Odessa along the Suncoast Parkway corridor, we see more foundation trim, sidewalk sections and concrete offcuts from new-construction and remodeling work. Rural lots around Shady Hills and Odessa sometimes need dirt or fill hauled as part of a grading or landscaping project as well.
Keep heavy loads clean
Mixing concrete or masonry into a load with wood, drywall, or general trash pushes the weight up fast and complicates disposal, since heavy debris and general demolition debris are typically processed differently. If your project genuinely has both — say a patio demo with an attached wood pergola — tell us when you book. Sometimes one container handles it fine, and sometimes it's cleaner and cheaper to split it into a heavy-debris load and a separate demolition load.
Suitability
Is concrete & heavy debris the right call?
The fastest way to get this right is to check the load against both lists before you book.
Good fits for this container
- Driveway, patio or sidewalk concrete removal
- Pool deck or small pool demolition debris
- Dirt, fill or excavation spoil
- Brick, block and masonry demo
Send these somewhere else
- Mixed household junk or general demolition debris (see our demolition debris or residential dumpster services instead)
- Very large slab sections that need crane or excavator handling beyond a standard roll-off pickup
- Full commercial construction jobs generating multiple material streams (see our commercial dumpster rental service)
Concrete & Heavy Debris — the Spring Hill-area specifics
The age of the housing stock along US-19 shapes a lot of what we see here — original driveways and pool decks in Port Richey, New Port Richey, Holiday and Elfers are decades old and a common source of concrete replacement work, while newer subdivisions in Trinity and Odessa generate their own concrete debris from foundation and hardscape work as those areas keep building out. Wherever you're located in west Pasco, if you're not sure whether your job is a heavy-debris load or a standard demolition load, describe it to us on the phone and we'll tell you which container — and which tonnage allowance — actually fits.

Answers
Concrete & Heavy Debris — your questions answered
Can I mix concrete with wood and drywall in the same dumpster?
It's better not to. Heavy material like concrete needs its own load sized around tonnage, while wood and drywall are handled as standard demolition debris. If your project genuinely has both, tell us when you book and we'll figure out whether one container works or whether you need two.
How much concrete actually fits in a dumpster?
It depends on the container size and the tonnage allowance, and concrete fills the weight limit long before it fills the box visually. Call us with a rough estimate of your project (driveway square footage, thickness, etc.) and we'll size the container to it.
Do you take dirt or excavation spoil?
Yes, dirt and fill are handled as heavy debris the same way concrete is, with the same weight considerations. Let us know the volume when you call.
Do I need a permit for a heavy-debris dumpster in my driveway?
In Spring Hill, a dumpster placed entirely on private property doesn't require a permit; placement in the street may need a temporary municipal permit and we can help with that. We haven't verified specific rules for the other towns we serve, so call your city or Pasco County to confirm before ordering if street placement is a possibility.
I'm having a pool removed — do you provide the dumpster for that?
Yes, we provide the container for the broken shell and concrete debris from a pool demolition. Your pool contractor handles the actual demolition and backfill; call us so we can coordinate delivery and pickup timing with their schedule.
